Nordic Cycles embodies a sophisticated integration of heat and cold contrast therapy within a singular, purposefully designed chamber. The description below outlines the key components and functionalities that contribute to the seamless fusion of these contrasting therapeutic experiences within our Sauna Cold Plunge Hybrid:

  1. The Chamber:
    • Nordic Cycles comprises a single, integrated chamber divided into distinct sauna and cold plunge zones. The layout is designed to optimize user convenience, allowing individuals to transition effortlessly and safely between the two therapies, without ever having to leave the chamber.

  2. The Sauna Component:
    • Construction:
The floor, walls, and ceiling are of premium wood construction, ensuring durability and aesthetic appeal. The sauna is raised above ground level in order for the top of the cold plunge to be about level with the floor of the sauna.

    • Heat Unit:
A wall mounted electric heating unit capable of reaching and maintaining elevated temperatures, creating a traditional sauna environment. The heating unit features a side mounted control panel to control temperature and session duration, with the option to delay turn on up to 8 hours.
      • Subfloor Space:
The subfloor space, situated beneath the heat unit, allows for the heating element of the wall mounted unit to be placed much closer to floor level compared to within a traditional sauna, as the Nordic Cycles sauna chamber is raised above ground level.
      • Vertical Rail Mount:
(COMING SOON) The vertical rail mount allows the heat unit to be effortlessly raised or lowered, providing users dynamic control over the height of the heat source within the sauna. This allows users to control the "hot" and "cool" zones within the sauna.

    • Benches:
      • High Bench:
Elevated within the sauna is a high bench, designed for users seeking a more intense sauna experience. The high bench is positioned to receive maximum heat from the sauna heater, promoting a higher temperature zone for those who prefer a more robust heat experience.
      • Low Bench:
Situated at a lower level within the sauna is the low bench, or transition bench, offering a milder sauna experience. Users on the low bench benefit from the heat without the intensity associated with the high bench.

    • Ventilation and Airflow:
To ensure optimal air quality and circulation, the chamber features a customizable ventilation architecture.
      • Natural Draught:
This ventilation architecture uses thermal energy from rising heat to vent the room properly - allowing for a cooler floor and lower bench area, with heat increasing the higher a user sits within the chamber.
      • Forced Mechanical:
This ventilation architecture uses an electric fan to draw air throughout the room properly - allowing for a more even spread of temperature between the floor, lower bench, and higher bench areas.

    • Lighting and Ambiance:
Two 52" LED RGB Mood light strips situated and configurable within the sauna.

    • Limited Glass:
One single glass window situated on the door of the sauna. Saunas that use a large amount of glass may look nice, but limiting the use of glass functionally increases energy efficiency, heat retention, and privacy.

    • The Cold Plunge Component:
      • Construction:
Crafted with premium acrylic and fiberglass with a reinforced metal base, the cold plunge includes a powerful chiller capable of working in high temperature climates, constant circulation, a water filter with ozone sanitation, and an underwater light.

      • Cold Plunge Cover:
An insulated spa cover may be optionally used to increase energy efficiency, although is not necessary.

      • Cold Water Insulation:
(COMING SOON) Closed cell temperature resistant spherical balls float on top of the cold plunge water, acting as an insulating layer between the cold water and hot ambient air. The buoyant and freely moving nature of the balls allows them to shift and accommodate users as they enter and exit the plunge.

      • Exterior Insulation:
Temperature resistant material is fastened between the structure of the sauna and outer edge of the cold plunge, keeping the Nordic Cycle air tight.

      • Energy Efficient Chiller Heat Recycler:
(COMING SOON) Heat generated from the cold plunge chiller is recirculated into the sauna, increasing energy efficiency and allowing for a quicker sauna warm up time.
